It’s Monday again. And once again I have left my weekly task to the last possible minute. We have some interesting stuff to talk about to today. Let’s get this show on the road…..
This will be the last MMR edition where you hear me reminding you about the ‘Hard Parker’s Ball’ here in Regina this upcoming Saturday evening. In case you don’t already know about it, I will give you a quick cliff notes version of the event.

Staying close to home, details of the 2012 Saskatchewan Boxer Battle were made public recently. The event is once again taking place at Autoclearing Speedway in Saskatoon, SK during cruise weekend.

There has been lots of rumours regarding Irwindale Speedway closing down over the weekend. The latest on the situation is that the company running the track looks to have been let go by the track owners. That being said The House of Drift isn’t dead yet, it looks like it is just evolving into its new form.

National Geographic has named The 24 Hours of LeMans the #1 Sporting event in the world. The Olympic Games and the World Cup of Soccer were ranked second and third respectively. To see Nat Geo’s complete list follow this link.

And last but not least, Nissan is returning to Australian Touring Car racing. Twenty years ago the GT-R dominated the Australian series for three years before the rulebook changed and removed turbocharged engines from the series. A lot has changed in the past 20 or so years. The series is now known as ‘V8 Supercars’ and there are races in countries other than Australia (including the USA in 2013). Nissan hasn’t indicated what car will be competing, and won’t do so for some time yet, but it is safe to assume it will include a V8 under the hood and it will be a 4-door based body.
