It is Monday. It is Morning. This is the Rundown. Finally the motorsports world is picking up. There is drifting news, Formula One is just around the corner and WRC has already started. This is good because it means less head-scratching for me on Sunday nights. Let’s begin……
We will start with some random Formula D tidbits:
— Matt Field has picked up Powered by Max and will be running their goodies in this year’s installment of Formula D. Also new for Matt this year is a possible graphic scheme designed by Mr. Mark ‘Fatlace’ Arcenal.
— The Tony Angelo story has been sorted out. He will be with Scion driving Ken Gushi’s tC from last year as Ken has moved on to the FR-S.
— Apparently Tanner Foust has hinted that he may try to find a ride for a couple rounds of the 2012 season.
— Rhys Millen doesn’t know WTF he is doing yet. I predict a heavy RallyX calendar in the Veloster.
—- The Panama exhibition event takes place this upcoming weekend at the Figali Convention Center in Panama City.

It looks like VW wants to get into the F1 game. Reports out of Germany tell us that the head of the motorsport division will propose a plan to supply a VW made motor to teams in the near future.

It looks like Rubens Barrichello is still seatless for the 2012 F1 season so he is looking at other possibilities. One of them being IndyCar. He is set to test with KV Racing this week at Sebring. One thing he has made clear though is that he won’t race ovals.

The Rally America season Kicked off this weekend with the annual SNO*DRIFT Rally in Atlanta, Michigan. Dave Higgins took first place in his STI while Antoine L’Estage came up second in his EVO. It looks like long time rally driver Andrew Comrie-Picard is driving a FWD Scion xD this year. Comrie-Picard finished 13th overall.

Jeremy Boddy of Peterborough, Ontario screwed a few too many people over and now he has to pay the price. He was charged with 8 counts of fraud over $5,000 for an elaborate method of ‘selling’ imported JDM Cars. For the whole story check it out on AutoBlog.ca

I must remind you that we are hosting a mid-winter get together here in Regina on Saturday, February 18th. Come down to the Broken Rack for some free pool and consume some beverages while talking cars and whatever else floats your boat. We might even have little something available that we have been working on with a drifter friend of ours to share with you.
