There isn’t much happening that is overly exciting it seems these days. All the racing series are winding up or already finished and most every one’s cars are parked for the winter. The one thing that does seem to heat up these days though are the car forums and the egos that frequent them. Luckily these types of things make the winter entertaining. Enough small talk, let’s see what I can come up with today……..
There is only one more stop on the 2011 Formula One schedule and that takes place this weekend in Brazil. We all know that Sebatien Vettel has secured the driver’s championship, but how will the rest of the Top 5 sort it’s self out? I guess we will have to watch on Sunday to find out. The good thing about races on this side of the world is that we don’t have to stay up until/or wake up at 4:30am. 🙂

The 2012 IndyCar schedule will include a first ever stop in China. A temporary 6.2KM street circuit will be constructed in the city of Qingdao which is situated between Shanghai and Beijing on the Chinese coastline. The race will take place on August 19th.

I came across a show by accident this past Thursday night on Speed. I was flipping through the guide and saw something called Battle Cross. The description said that that Gymkhana racers and Drifters take to a course in a steel mill. It turns out that it was the premier episode which pitted Subaru Team drivers David Higgins against Dave Mirra in a two part competition.
The first portion was a timed Gymkhana/RallyCross type solo race on a set course through an operating steel mill. The second portion of the competition was a freestyle run through various obstacles very much like Monster Jam. The show is hosted by Andrew Comrie-Picard along side Sam Hubinette and Stephan Verdier who served as judges. Oh yeah, did I forget to mention the one and only Stacy Keibler also co-hosted the show and waved a flag? Another interesting point to mention is that the show is produced by Rob Cohen who just happened to direct The Fast and The Furious.
Everything considered, I’m not sure what to think of it. It is put together well but it reeks of a Subaru commercial. I guess we will have to see what future episodes bring to the table.

A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that Nintendo had a press conference scheduled at the LA AutoShow. It turns out they have partnered with West Coast Customs to create full sized MarioKart replica’s. I guess Remi Gaillard doesn’t need to use a shifter cart for Mario Kart 3.
Is that show only on Thursday’s? sounds not the best but I think its worth maybe checking out a few times and see where it goes…
3rd sentence, first paragraph, love it.
It turns out this was just the pilot. It was on a couple of more times over the weekend. Keep your eyes on the Speed schedule and I am sure something will pop up again.
