Today let’s try to be a bit more educational than usual. Maybe I can also tug on those heart strings of yours and create a sense of nostalgia. I should also mention that today’s Wacky Wheel Wednesday is a bit of a cheat as it also doubles as a half car feature. Really, though, who’s going to complain as it’s just more pretty pictures to look at.
One of the reasons I love old school imports is because of all the awesome wheels that come with them. Put some wheels half as wide as they are tall on cars of yesteryear, and you’ve put a smile on my face.
But finding those wheels in the right size and offset is sometimes as hard as finding the right car to put them on. It would seem, all too often, enthusiasts either have to shell out some serious coin or make due with something less desirable.
Ready for the cliche? Well, you don’t have to make due anymore! Enkei is bringing back another classic wheel this year. The Apache II is back to join the ranks of the Enkei92 and the J-Speed. This is great news as it is one of my favourite old-school wheels. However, unlike the other two classic wheels, this guy can be bought in a 15×8 with a 0 offset.
The other good news is every time Enkei re-releases a classic wheel I get to snap a few pics of another amazing Datsun.
It is a rare thing to see such a flawless 510; whoever owns this car must both really love and respect Datsuns. The last few years the Enkei booth has been a welcome change from all the shiny & new or classic muscle cars.
I am loving the fact Enkei is bringing back nostalgic rims!
