The beautiful Penticton speed way would play host to the final round of DMCC in 2011.
Located literately on top of a mountain, there was no better place to settle a fight for the season tittle.
Only 55 points separated the top 5 drivers. Conroy Ganson was at the top of the list heading into the event, and hoping to keep the momentum of his first place finish at race city alive. He was quick to adapt to the technical section that saw the drivers ditch a drift half way off the bank into the long narrow infield.
Upon arriving to the track, Kurtis Goat was immediately hit with gremlins as his turbo set up decided to call it quits. Luckily a spare was found and he was back on the track with his head turning Nissan Silvia S13. This car just gets better looking every time I look at it.
In addition to the already close points race, a rivalry between Alberta and British Columbia was also to be fought out over the weekend, as the crew from Drift Union showed up to play ball. Personally, I love the look of Logan Noël’s Subaru Legacy. Such a unique car for drifting, but Logan has no problem keeping this beast sideways.
Like really whats not to love!
Also to be settled this weekend was the pro am championship. As current points leader Jesse Wiesner took the track, he was showing some serious skills that made even a few pro drivers stare in awe. All day long he was grabbing third gear coming off the short straight into the bank.
Saturday would wrap up with qualifying for both series, but not with out some accidents. Some not too serious
And some would end the season on a low note.Unfortunately, for Devin Horsley, he was victim to the the banked wall of Penticton Speedway
Before his run in, Devin was on point all afternoon, really pushing the limits of his SR powered Corolla. Devin will rebuild though, I cant wait too see whats in store next for his crazy corolla.
Travis Clark was holding some incredible angle through out the track despite fighting alignment issues all day, but they would catch up in time as he just missed the top 16. But there will be more of Mr Clark in part two!
On the complete opposite end of that list was Mr. Jon “Jony Danger” Schildwachter his super consistent driving would earn him top spot and a by run in Sundays competition.

Dope. Can’t wait to read part 2! I’m very interesting in seeing how the BC vs AB battle shaped up.
