So a couple weeks ago the Northside Street Rods held their annual Hot Rod Hi-Jinx Car Show down at the Echo Valley Beach. Now Normally the show is on the grass, but because of all the flooding it was moved to the parking lot, however, this didn’t dampen the spirits of everyone who came and endured the heat. Lets start with the Cruise Night that was located in the Fort at the A&W on the Friday.
This beautiful ’28 Model A Roadster belongs to NSSR member Ernie Welta.
Had a decent showing for the Cruise Night.
After the Cruise Night we headed of to the camp site for an old fashion camp fire mixed with car talk. If you can, always try to take in the entire Hi-jinx weekend. Between the cruise night, camping, the poker run, afternoon car show, and after party, you need the whole weekend to take it in. I’ve done it for 2 years now and have had a blast each time.
Here’s a quick pic of the meet before the poker run. The turn out was great for this years event.
Now onto the Car show itself. We had an incredible showing this year of 61 car and almost beat our record of 64. This sharp looking S10 Belong to NSSR member Kent Wallace (a.k.a. Wally). Not only is this beast slammed on airbags but also runs a supercharged motor, and has an amazing paint job to finish it off.
NSSR member Chad Welta is the owner of this mean machine. She’s a ’51 Monarch, running a 5.3L Chev motor for a bit more power the factory Flathead it came with. Speaking of what it came with, this beauty is still stylin’ in its original paint. Over the Winter time it went under the knife for a suspension swap out, its now sitting on air bags.
This Golden eye catcher belongs to crazy kustomizer and fellow NSSR member Kelly “Wombat” Kirk. He’s spent countless hours shaping and molding, reshaping, welding and fabricating what he calls “The Tornado”. This crazy contraption is slammed, has suicide door, blood splatter painted interior. Oh and he also put the motor in the back.
I always love seeing Kyle Civic out and about.
Even in the crazy heat that was going on, people still came out and took a tour around.
This one is by far my favorite Deuce pickup ever. Its fast, its loud, looks absolutely incredible, oh and did I mention is is FAST? Chad W. is the creator of this beautiful master piece, started its new life to become a bad ass machine when Chad was 14 years old, and had started working on it at age 15.
Now whats a car show with out awards? A show and shine, Zing.
Ok fine no more terrible jokes. On a serious note, the trophies were hand crafted by NSSR’s own Kevin Trenker and Ernie Welta. The trophies are made up of old car parts and random things found laying around the shop. Now on to the winner of said awards:

Had a very good turnout, even despite the heat. I would like to thank everyone who came out this year and hope to
see some new faces and rides next year.
Was a awesome day for a car show couldn’t have asked for any better weather… the only down side was that short bit of mysterious golf ball hail 😛
