Good Morning. It is Monday. Time for the rundown………..
The Edmonton Indy took over Edmonton’s City Centre Airport this weekend and by all accounts it was another great event. This is how the event podium looked:
1. Will Power
2. Helio Castroneves
3. Dario Franchitti
The next IZOD IndyCar Series event is the Honda Indy 200 at Mid-Ohio on Aug. 7 at Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.

Also taking place on the newly configured track in Edmonton was the DMCC Drift demo. Our Tony Koch was there and he tells us to expect some coverage this week.

It was a big weekend and Evergreen Speedway just outside of Seattle this weekend. Round 5 of the Formula D circuit invaded with both Pro-Am and the Pro competitions in front of a sold-out house.
Probably the one driver that most of Canada was watching was Calgary’s Alex Lee. Alex started off the weekend by qualifying 16th overall and lining up against the veteran Alex Pfeifer in his Megan Racing 350z in the Top 32. When the smoke cleared Alex Lee made less mistakes and proceded to the Top 16 where he would line up the top qualifier of the weekend, also in a 350z, Tyler McQuarrie. McQuarrie was the better of the two and Alex’s day was over. Overall I am sure all will admit it was a very successful weekend for Alex and he will only get better at future events.

The Pro-Am competition was won by Ian Fournier from Drift Safari, Ian is usually a pro driver but he didn’t get registered in time for pro so he kicked ass in Pro-Am.
——-
The pro division final podium looked like this:
- Yoshihara
- Forsberg
- Aasbo
Next up on the calendar is Las Vegas in August.

Next Weekend in Motorsports:
WRC Finland
Formula 1 Hungary
DMCC West Round 2 in Fort Saskatchewan
X-Games Rally Events in Los Angeles

So I am thinking TLC’s Overhaulin’ is done. I haven’t seen it on for a long time probably since Cake Boss and that Gypsy show is always on. Why am I bringing this up you ask? I was flipping through the channels on TV the other night and saw a familiar face on Entertainment Tonight. I sat there for a few minutes trying to figure out who the hell the person was that I was looking at. A quick search of the internet revealed to me it was none other than Chris Jacobs from Overhaulin’. It turns out Mr. Jacobs is a reporter for the worlds most watched entertainment show. Weird.
