For those of you who haven’t been to Penticton B.C., let me start by saying it is amazing as is most B.C. scenery. What is usually considered to be wine country has developed a new identity to drifters all across Western Canada. The Penticton Speedway recently played host to the Drift Union Team Tandem Invitational. The notorious purple car triplet that makes up Drift Union invited all those willing to make the trek to join them a top of their little slice of heaven. The Penticton Speedway is like nothing I have seen before, it is actually situated on top of a mountain and shares all the same scenery that makes the Okanagan so beautiful.
The turn out for this event had included many of Western Canada’s top drift teams. The ones not in attendance were busy at DMCC Round 1 in Calgary. Even B.C.’s Drift Safari was split up across the west. While Ian Fournier was busy judging DMCC in the prairies, Mat Rodger’s was busy laying it down in the mountains and being pretty photogenic while doing so.
I am relatively new to this crew, but if I am not mistaken they are called the Midnighters. They are from the Vancouver region and not only do they drive two amazing S chassis but they drive them well. Seen above is one of them.
I have absolutely no information on this car but he looked like he was having fun.
The man behind the event and drift coordinator for the track, the internet’s own Shawn Browne just doing exactly what Drift Union is known for.
Again, another car that escaped the clutches of my limited knowledge, but still tugged on the strings of my S-Chassis loving heart.
Jack Connelly of Drift Squad, was devil may care attitude all day and it was awesome.
Jack’s teammate and friend, Eric Zapata just looking good in his 1JZ powered S13.
Finally, we have Trent Stromkins of Drift Safari. This man is both a gentleman and a scholar in his S14 SR20DET powered AE86. All I can say is unreal, it was treat to meet everyone. You can expect more coverage form this event to follow.
Good write up guys!!! Event was a blast 🙂
Nice job Ryan! Love it 🙂
