It was a big weekend of Drifting here in Western Canada. We had the first round of the 2011 DMCC Western Canadian championship in Calgary and the Drift Union Invitiational in Penticton. I was unable to make it to either event however those that did make the trek tell me it was a great weekend of drifting and socializing. DODOlogic will have coverage of both events over the the next week so stay tuned!
Some pretty crazy events over the weekend in England. The team JapSpeed 1JZ-powered Imprezza that campaigns the British Drift Championship was stolen from the Performance Vauxhall Show at the Santa Pod Raceway Saturday. After several spottings of the car on public roads along with television coverage of the theft, the car was located yesterday and was already in the process of being stripped down.

Formula Drift opened their Asian Championship this past weekend in Singapore. Here is how the podium looked when the smoke cleared:
1- Daigo Saito
2- Saranon Pornpatanarak
3- Ken Gushi
4- Ivan Lau
Formula D stops in Wall, New Jersey this upcoming weekend for round 4 of the 2011 American Championship.

We haven’t really talked about Ken Block lately. This is probably because he hasn’t really done much to talk about. This is all about to change though with the continuing WRC season, his future appearances in the Global Rallycross Championship and X-Games, the 2011 Gymkhana events and now his Formula 1 testing gig.
Don’t get too excited about the Formula 1 gig. It isn’t with any of the current teams, but instead with Pirelli. Mr. Block will be spending some time in a retired 2009 car at Monza. What will come of this? Probably just publicity for both Ken and Pirelli. How will he do? I guess we will find out later this summer.

The Canadian Grand Prix took place in Montreal over the weekend and the same drivers that we have seen countless other times this season on the podium are on the podium again. The order that they appeared in this time looked like this:
1. Button
2. Vettel
3. Webber
Next up is the European Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain in 2 weeks.
