Dave has gone fishing in some remote area of Saskatchewan with no 3G coverage, which means it is up to me to give the weekly rundown. Hope you guys like drifting! To be fair I’ll through in some other news if possible.
Fist and foremost, this past weekend was Formula D Round 3 at Palm Beach. The new course brought out some familiar results. JTP took first place, followed by a second place finish from Vaughn Gittin JR. Third place went to Darren McNamara with his Saturn Sky. This was obviously a big day for Falken as their drivers filled the podium. However, even more impressive is that Palm Beach was the first time we have seen so many people lay down reverse entries in competition. Now, if the judges start being as appreciative of them as the spectators are, we will be getting some where.

In Canadian news, DMCC west Round 1 takes place this weekend in Calgary at Race city. The Pros will be competing on Sunday while the Pro AM competition will be on Saturday. DODO’s own Tony K. will be there snapping pics of the action. Should be a start to great season.
For good measure here is a picture of a DMCC West Pro car.

Speaking of Drifting, next weekend is also Drift Union’s Invitational – Team tandem event. Drivers from all across the Pacific North West will be congregating in Penticton to see some three car tandem. A few of DODO staff will be heading out West to bring you coverage of this event as well.

D1GP launched it’s season opener in Tokyo this past weekend. The season was originally meant to start earlier but after earthquakes shook Japan a few months ago the event was forced to reschedule to this past weekend. Drivers put it down in true D1 style, the final standing look like this:
1- Masato Kawabata
2- Youichi Imamura
3- Tatsuya Sakuma
It has yet been seen what impact will be made on the league since the departure of its iconic judges.

Finally in F1 news, Baharain is back as a venue forĀ race series. Originally, they questioned the decision to hold the race in Baharain due to civil unrest. Although with a few people speaking out, it would not be surprising if the decision was reversed.

That will do for now, have a great week…. let’s hope it goes fast.
