As some may have heard, a few drivers from Regina took a road trip to Rivers Manitoba on the May long weekend for some drifting. I grabbed some gear and tagged along, so keeping with DODOlogic tradition let’s take it from the top.
Friday was the beginning of our little our adventure. Our destination was about 3 and a half hours away, the Regina drifters were smart enough to trailer their cars. I on the other hand jumped in with Devin J. in his Subaru.
I think it would be fun to drive these drift cars to said destination, but Jordan Hall assured me there would be nothing fun about driving this Miata on a road trip.
Here we find Kyle Zimmer’s Skyline, not seen in the picture is all the other gear Kyle brought with him. He was even nice enough to bring his Honda Ruckus, but that is a story for another day.
What would a road trip be without some of our Yoda shots? At this point it is tradition, no matter how nerdy it is.
Yoda probably scoffs at the idea of a Nav system, after all he is a Jedi Master. However, judging by the straight line being drawn, it may seem like over kill – It is the prairies after all. Seeing as how we left so late, this was the last picture of the night. Also, a road side mishap found me knee deep in a swamp, so I decided to call it quits for the night.
Early the next morning we awoke to find that Kyle’s valve stem caps had been stolen by some young punks. Turns out those kids on the bikes weren’t actually admiring the Skyline like they said they were.
It would seem Jordan isn’t use to early mornings or that is just the look a of young man bound and determined to shred some tires. Either way, I steered clear and used a zoom lens to capture this little moment in time.
Shortly after leaving the hotel, a third Regina driver joined the convoy. Jon Fiorante met us at a gas station with his RB25 powered R32. We waited until our escort arrived to guide us to the promised land.
So that does it for now, next we get to the meat and potatoes of the weekend.
