Supras are the type of beast that very few around dare to play with. Keeping stock internals and some bolt ons these machines are capable of reaching 700+ bhp. Pretty eye catchy but not so easy on the wallet. However not the case for Rob Blackmore. A major fan of Toyota sport cars. Owning a shop in Edmonton which caters to a majority of Toyota clientele hooked him to start up on this build.
After selling his S13 he immediately (literally) went to buy a 96 Pearl White Special Edition N/A 5spd platform. Moreover, he “ended up selling his MR2 turbo to make sure this Supra would be exactly what he wanted right from the start and so that he doesn’t have to live in a condo for the next 3 years lol” he says…
Of course the N/A 5spd setup had to go. The kind of stuff Robby was jonesing for needed a built motor and some serious investment in time, money and expertise, plus that most precious of human commodities: patience. Swapped by a 2JZ-GTE Engine 6spd Getrag and Torrsen LSD TT Rearend the car was off to a perfect start.
Above the iron-block of this 3.0L straight-six is where most of the engine work has been subtlety concentrated. HKS 264 intake and exhaust cams and adjustable cam gears join the valves, titanium retainers and valve springs inside the prepped aluminum head. To be on the safe side, with so much power churning around, the factory head and main studs have been upgraded to ARP items. HKS timing belt to keep everything synchronized. Air and fuel control is at its top game controlled by Greddy Intake Manifold, Q45 Throttlebody w/ Greddy TPS Adapter, Powerhouse Racing Fuel Rail (Twin -6 Feed) and Precision 980cc Injectors, Aeromotive FPR and Twin Walbro 255lph Fuel Pumps.
Finally making long story short air intake and exhaust are handled by a custom HKS GT2835 Twin Kit, Greddy 4-Row FMI, custom 3.5″ downpipe & midpipe, HKS Carbon/Ti Exhaust and HKS SSQ Racing BOV.
Going for aesthetics Bride Ergo seats with Takata harnesses stand out the most.
Featuring a Lexus Desert Sage metallic paint covering the car’s stock panels as well as the Top Secret body kit with exeption of the Top Secret Rear Diffuser w/ Vortex Generators.
