Bret Young, also known as BYoung, is a local car enthusiast like any of us but also a long time friend and the very reason for my love affair with Gran Turismo today. We all have already heard about our awful winters and bad roads. So let’s focus on a practical solution, the most reasonable way to enjoy your car all year round is with an AWD platform. Now that we stated the obvious here goes another 20/20.
A few weeks ago he purchased a 2002 Subaru WRX.
Basically stock, other than a flush sitting set of XXR 552’s and a short ram intake the car takes on a nearly perfect daily driver setup. I have to say AWD is definitely a practical choice for our roads and weather conditions. I think I’m getting what they call the AWD fever.
Looking for the next way to spend money on his car Bret is talking about a COBB Accessport and Perrin turbo-back exhaust. This would add pretty significant increase for both horse power and torque. In true Subaru fashion this car will one day sport some stiffer suspension and Rally Armor mudflaps. Ideally, this cars 20 above is pretty much the same as its 20 below, but that is the beauty of Subaru.
There’s something different about the bug-eyed Impreza’s, any angle in a picture just doesn’t do them justice!
Keep an eye out for more 20/20 articles, even though I know you all hope the weather won’t allow us to do many more!
Nice looking car
