So it is Monday morning and it is time for me to spew my sometimes useless info at anyone who chooses to read it. I am just getting over a pretty crappy head cold so all I could put together is this………
Let’s start with some drifting related stuff.
Over the last couple of days DMCC West dates have been popping up on various sites. This is what I have gathered so far. The season will open in either Vernon or Penticton, BC sometime in May. Then will move east to Calgary on June 25th/26th. Round three will be at Stratotech Park on July 31st and the season will close out in Calgary on August 27th/28th.
I’m not sure where the ProAm guys fit into this but I could assume that they will be competing during the two-day events.

I came across an interesting wall post on Facebook by Matt Powers a couple of days ago. Matt has been a grassroots type of guy during his time in Formula D and has created quite a following. However last year people started to notice that his car wasn’t quite as slammed as it used to be and that he was changing his style somewhat. Some of his fans suggested that maybe he was ‘selling out’ to the NASCAR of the drifting world.
Well what do you make of this?
“Why do people think that going v8 is not “keeping drifting fun”? changing 3 head gaskets between long beach and atlanta is not fun. paying 15$ for a gallon of gas is not fun. Getting left behind is not fun. Why do drift fans want the drivers to have shitty setups? I dont get it”
…and this made me laugh…
“i dont really care how a car sounds. im not a “car guy”. im a surf punk that likes to drift.”
There was a lot of the V8 vs Turbo4 talk after he made the first post and 168 replies later it points to him going V8 in 2011. I don’t know, maybe If he gets a decent haircut I will feel better about the V8.

Drift Union from out in the Okanagan is having a Video release party at the end of the month. Going by the poster below it is taking place at Four Function Autosport in Kelowna. I am sure there is more info on their website if you need it.

Robert Kubica of Poland, not to be confused with Robby Kubica of Saskatoon, was seriously injured in a rally accident in Italy yesterday. By the sounds of it he is expected to make a full recovery, however this could mean that his F1 career is over. To read more follow the link:

I came across an interesting article last weekend when I was checking up on the Rally America SNO*Drift updates. A lot of our readers will probably recognize the name Verena Mei. Verena had adorned the pages of several of the import Magazines a few years ago and even made an appearance in one of the Fast and the Furious movies. Since then she has been toying with Drifting and Time Attack but most recently she is trying to get into rally full-time. She was Co-driver for Wyatt Knox in a Mazda 3 in one of the lower classes (G5) in Sno*Drift but managed to finish the weekend 14th overall. She plans to keep practicing in order to compete as a driver in the innagural Fiesta Sport Trophy USA Series which begins in June.
