In keeping with our weather-driven posts, I thought we would take a look at Joel Kurtz’ varying vehicles. It wasn’t until after I put the article together that realized these two cars are named for things from space.
It’s a 1969 Nova SS Joel and his dad have been working on for the past 4 years. It has a 350 small block with 500hp, with lots and lots of goodies. It’ll soon have 4.56 gears with a four link set up.
Although the car isn’t done, I hope we can do a real feature on it this summer when it is.
The Saturn below is such a huge contrast from the muscle car that Joel sports in the summer. It is kind of like Bruce Banner and the Incredible Hulk… if Bruce Banner wasn’t a doctor but a 3-door coupe instead.
I really like these pictures because they are actually the opposite of what we have been posting in our 20/20 articles. By that I mean the summer car picture is the one with snow and the winter car picture has no snow. I think this illustrates the whole idea of how many of us are with our winter and summer cars. The summer car comes out as soon as the snow melts, while the winter car picture looks like a picture you would see in Auto Trader. I don’t think any of us who have winter beaters pay them much mind nor do we really identify with them. Our winter rides are just a means to get us through to the summer where we can drive our real cars again. The exception to this rule are the AWD guys, and I hope we can look at some of their vehicles soon.
Thanks for uploading the pictures guys! Means a lot to me and my dad! have a good one, cheers! 🙂
WOW beautiful love everything about it looking forward to see the feature story this summer I will be watching
