Event: DMCC Round 1, Race City, Calgary

Last Friday, a bunch of us piled into 4 cars and made our way to Calgary, Alberta for Round 1 of DMCC West at Race City. Upon arrival to the track on Saturday, Ryan and I received our media passes and parted ways with the rest of our gang. Being down in the track and up close to the action was a blast, but the rest of the guys definitely had the best seat in the house. Its just not the same cheering without being surrounded by your friends! Anyhow, I made my way through the pits, saying hi to those I knew, meeting new people and snapping shots of the cars in the pits. After everyone got themselves settled in and organized, everyone began to practice, the Pros and Pro Ams swapping turns on the track.

At lunch time everyone took a break to prepare for the Pro Am competition. The drivers went out and did there practice run, then 2 qualifying runs. After that the delayed tandem took place for the head to head battles. I was super impressed at how exciting the Pro Am tandem was, they started far from each other but by the time they reached the in field, they were usually right on each other! After some really exciting battles the winners were announced. I will post the names of the top 3 when DMCC posts it, its embarrassing but I don’t know their names. But continuing on, after the Pro Ams had finished their comp, there was a short break for everyone to sort out their stuff and let the pros practice again for Sunday. In my sum up of day I would say it was a day of sun burns, crashes, surprises and anxiousness.

So the first pictures are stills of most of the Pro cars and some of the Pro Am cars, then we get into the Pro Am competition and then the Pro practice… it was a long day and I couldn’t capture everyone but there is lots of pics, hopefully you enjoy them!
