As I sit here writing this article, the clock is reading 5:10 AM. Since I got off work about two hours ago, I’m deciding to not focus so much on writing but showing. In all honesty, there isn’t a whole lot to say about this pro practice for DriftWest Round 1 other than it was an absolute blast to shoot. Wall taps and crashes paired with lots of sunny weather equalled great times for this guy. I also got to put my new lens through its paces shooting at 1/20th — something I’ve never been able to do! Anyways, before my overtired mind wanders too far astray, here are just a fraction of the pictures I shot.
Oddly enough, this is the only picture that turned out of Shawn Hartum’s FC from the entire weekend. Usually it’s one of the most photogenic cars on the track!
I don’t know why, but this is one of my favorite pictures from the weekend. I think it’s the uncovered tube frame.
Even though this picture is quite badly framed, the fact that the car was captured as its rear bumper scraped the wall is awesome.
Ahhh, 1/20th looks so good!
Alright, it’s time to get some sleep. Don’t forget to keep checking back for more coverage of Driftwest’s Round 1 that was held at Castrol Raceway near Edmonton this past weekend. Next up is the Pro AM competition.
