First things first, I just wanted to say how awesome this year was for the car scene here in Saskatchewan. It seemed like every meet I attended was met with nothing but hot and sunny days. The DODOlogic meets brought in the biggest crowd Saskatchewan has ever seen, especially Fallout. Needless to say I am stoked to see what 2013 will bring. For now though, here’s a look at what my lens shot during this year.
This year DODOlogic held a meet in Saskatoon, for those of you who didn’t get to attend the turnout was about as good as it could have been due to there being the Craven Country Jamboree and a Rider game on the same day.
Aidan’s car was definitely one of my favorite features of the year, the brand new Rocket Bunny kit, Origin fenders and TE37’s all added up to something spectacular.
The Defrost meet got a lot of people and their cars out from hibernation. Defrost is always nice because it means the summer season has begun!
While in Calgary we hooked up with Kurtis Goat and Curtis Gilbert to shoot their S-Chassis’, Goat’s daily and his drift are pictured left and middle, Gilbert’s on the right.
The Redline Society held their first meet this past summer in the Credit Union Center’s parking lot, while I was there I had the chance to shoot Brady Taylor’s 510, I love this thing.
After the Redline meet we partied at the “Stoon Guy’s” place where Chris K lit the garage up with a lot of tire smoke. Definitely the coolest thing I have ever witnessed go down in a garage, and trust me, I have seen some pretty cool stuff go down in a garage!
While Shane Mamer was here in Regina to attend Fallout we went a little ways down the road from Siast to shoot his boosted BB6 Prelude. I know I have said it before but the Work Equips he bought couldn’t have been a better choice.
Alex’s WRX was another big hit of the summer, one of the highest horsepower outputting cars I have ever shot.
The most recent thing I had the chance to shoot was RSOC’s 2nd rally day, they definitely set the standard for how a car club should act!
We were there when the VW guys all met up at Taylor Volkswagon’s parking lot, free hot dogs, burgers and viewing of European styled cars is always fun.
Although it doesn’t push nearly the same numbers as his FB does, Justin’s 13B swapped Toyota pickup was definitely one of the more unique vehicles I had the chance to feature this summer.
A bunch of us at DODOlogic got the honor of test driving the FRS, one of us was even allowed to drift it. A big thanks goes out to Taylor Scion for that night!
Before Donovan sold his immaculate CRX, I was able to get a bunch of pictures of it while he was in Regina attending the defrost meet. I can’t wait to see his other project in attendance this upcoming year!
I got to see a bunch of what Alberta’s car scene has to offer at the Illmotion Sunday School meet. I was blown away from this Integra’s Mugen wing, custom widened Regamasters and sick stance. It wasn’t just this car that caught my attention though, there was literally hundreds of quality builds.
Saskatchewan held it’s first drift event in years out at Kingspark Speedway, here’s a shot of our good friend Carter slaying the banks.
And Shawn destroying some tires as he comes off the apex of said bank.
The biggest part of my year was my first trip outside of Canada to check out SEMA. While we were there, GRC held their final event of the season and we got to see some really fierce cars doing what they do best, racing and spitting flames.
Ken Block and Tanner Foust really battled it out in the finals, it was quite the spectacle. I’m hoping there will be a round 2 next year while we are in Vegas again.
It would be a total disgrace to talk about SEMA without showing one of the biggest aspects of the show, the girls, so there you go! Thanks for looking guys and we will see you in the new year, I hope you all have the best luck the world has to offer and party safe!
