As I sit here, I have found myself wondering how to start this post off. I could start by saying “F you!” winter for basically killing everything I live for- warm days and car culture- but I know there is no need to remind people of the freezing cold. During the cold months it isn’t too often we get to shoot fresh content for all of you out there to read, we mainly rely on the stuff we haven’t had the time post during the summer. Thanks to the Regional Subaru Owners Club, also know as RSOC, I was able go out and face the wind to capture just a fraction of their 2nd Rally day of the winter.
A few kilometers east of the city on an acreage a pile of Subaru’s battle the snow and ice for the fastest time around the track. That being said it’s a very laid back atmosphere.
Speaking of laid back, a good friend of mine tagged along to watch the festivities but soon got tired of standing and decided the snow would do a fine job of replicating a bed.
This thing looks familiar! I am glad Jesse has gotten my old Legacy Wagon back on the roads, I miss it in a really weird way.
The final standings of the day were:
Terry won fastest time, Tom Bingham won best style and Ryan Harkness won best newbie.
All the snow kicked up by the Subaru’s AWD systems made for some dramatic pictures, I believe this is my first time shooting a winter rally event.
Even after freezing my ass off I was glad I showed up to cover the event, it was the first time I touched my camera since SEMA.
I just want to end off by saying thanks to the RSOC guys and if any of you are looking for more info on them hit up facebook: “Regional Subaru Owners Club RSOC”.
Great write up and great shots Scott. Thanks for coming out and bearing the cold. It’s nice to see more and more scoobies showing up on DODOlogic!
wicked photos! Thanks for coming out!
