It seems that I only come across VIP Modular wheels a few times a year. Usually finding these wheels means finding a pretty cool car to go along with it.
These VIP Modular VX210 are no exception to that rule. At first, I will admit that these wheels seemed a little less then conventional for this classic Mercedes. However, once I looked under the hood it all made sense, this is no conventional Mercedes.
The Mercedes was sitting in the Nitto booth and surrounded by an array of fantastic cars and could have been overlooked. It may seem silly to say that car like this with wheels like that could be overlooked but in the endless halls of SEMA things tend to blur together.
The blurring of SEMA was quickly interrupted once this Mercedes popped it’s hood to reveal that Toyota inline six. I don’t know a whole lot of people who would turn up their nose at a 2JZ-GTE, even the Nitto girl seems enthralled by its presence.
The mere sound of a Toyota JZ is enough to convince the harshest critiques that it is always a good choice for swap. I don’t know if there was a shinier car at SEMA and those VIP Modular’s really helped drive the point home.
