If you look closely at the picture, you will see it doesn’t have my name on it. My name is, of course, Ryan, and these photos were taken by a Paul Smyrski. Coincidentally, those SSR Professor SP1 belong to him and so does the Civic they are bolted up to.
You may be wondering why Paul took the pictures of his own car. The answer is simple – Paul lives in Winnipeg. Usually I would snap the photos you see on Wednesday, but Paul left the event before I even realized he was there. As he pulled away, I caught his car out of the corner of my eye and thought, “Hey, those wheels belong on Wheel Wednesday.”
A few days later, Paul messaged me asking how to get his car on the site. The simple answer is, “build a cool car.” The real answer is probably more complicated and convoluted. Lucky for me, Paul is handy with a camera, so we had him send us some photos.
When Paul acquired the wheels they were worse for wear, so he spent some time fixing the lips. Then he sent the faces out to be stripped and power-coated. After much deliberation, he decided to make those SSR’s baby blue. These Professor SP1 measure in at 17×7.5 +43 all the way around and the rears have been fitted with a 5mm spacer.
The Civic is lowered on HSD coils and paired with a Buddy Club rear camber kit. Nearly sticker-free clean paint is how this Civic now spends most of its days.
So that is that: simple, clean and to the point.
This also makes number 4 for the amount of articles we have done on the Top Tier Import guys.
