This past Sunday was the second annual Fallout meet. Car enthusiasts in Saskatchewan only have about 5 months of good car weather…. if we are lucky. So even though it is not Fall yet, we decided to do it early before we ran out of good weather. So we got together with Taylor Scion, Valet Auto Spa and a couple hundred of our favorite people and did car stuff all afternoon.
It is looking like lot 14 at the SIAST campus may become the new home of these DODO meets. In other news, both these cars are powered by Nissan engines. Weird, right? Well, the RB in the Datsun makes sense, but the SR in the BMW is something else.
Speaking of putting SR’s where they don’t belong, our dear friend Jordan Hall made it home just in time from a summer of slaying tires for the meet. Parked directly in front of Jordan’s Miata is my Celsior all aired out.
So the total number of cars in attendance was somewhere in the 275 region. We aren’t sure as people were sneaking in the back making it really hard to track.
Brayden Johnson and his S2000 sitting on some Volk R30’s.
The Saskatoon S-Chassis crew decided to centralize a large portion of this meet’s S-Chassis population.
There were actually a decent number of Datsuns at this meet, a lot them being driven by younger guys.
Mike Nguyen’s MKIV is not 1100 hp nor is it powered by a flux capacitor. The amount of rumors surrounding this car are unreal and I mean that in the most literal sense. Mike built this car from near stock using the finest parts and it shows.
It was a pretty long day and eventually my brain stopped working and most sentences that left my mouth were non-sense. Everyone was a real good sport about it and didn’t draw attention to it.
In true 4×4 fashion Marshal parked his Jeep off-road. Some people commit to one chassis or make of vehicle and swear by them forever. Marshal apparently has never heard of this concept, however no matter what he is building he always does it right.
James Scott brought out his Corrado, I know very little about VW’s but I know this car is awesome.
Devin Jeffery opted out of driving his STi to the meet for this classic Toyota Hilux. It was awesome to see him pull up as he had to drive super slow and the first rush of people got stuck behind him, causing a huge line up. It looked like he was directing 60 cars worth of traffic on how to get to the lot.
The Subaru community came out in full force and as you can see had a pretty big presence.
This picture may make some people mad and others smile. Lots of people brought their bikes to the meet and Colin Gallagher sacrificed his not-so-pristine BMW to entertain the masses. Crowds gathered round to watch some of the guys do tricks off Colin’s car. Here we see Paul landing his jump right in the middle of the hood.
