Allow me to quickly refresh your memory, about a month ago I had the opportunity to tour the Fatlace headquarters in San Francisco. However, we have been so busy around here lately that I haven’t been able to get to this.
This is obviously the second post about the visit, hence the part II. (Part I can be seen here) When we left off I had just came across the studio. This area was housing two unreal cars, first was maybe my favorite S-Chassis of all time and the second was the newest RWB Porsche.
This is Mark Arcenal’s S-Chassis. It has been around for quite some time and been remodeled countless times. Mark always manages to keep it fresh, reinventing the car so it is never out dated and usually ahead of the curve. That amongst all the custom time and work that has gone into this 240 is what makes it my favorite.
This is the RWB USA 993 Demo Car – ЧАЙХОНА. It is named for Nakai’s favorite Russian bar. The car is pretty unreal to look at but apparently tame in comparison to Pandora One which is tucked away in the corner. There is no way I could explain this car enough to do it justice, so here is a link to someone that can. RWB USA 993 Demo Car
In case you didn’t know or haven’t figured it out, Fatlace is also the American headquarters for RWB. So here is another shot of the newest creation state side for good measure. After leaving the studio/garage/place where awesome is created, we headed back up stairs to what I guess you would call a break room.
The shop also has a store front that is filled with a bunch of cool things like these bikes.
The store front was of course also filled with all the latest Fatlace and Illest merchandise that was all for sale. I stocked up on some gear while I was there and the staff at both locations were unreal. However, this isn’t about me, well it kind of is but not like that.
So many stickers for sale, which makes sense as this is where they are born. As a side note, I can’t stress this enough – please do not buy fake Fatlace/illest stickers. support these guys and buy their stuff. You see the more legit stuff we buy, the more inclined they will be to continue making legit things for us to have. Plus they are super rad people and deserve our support.
Some fairly philosophical license plate covers.
After some money and filling my memory card with the sights of Fatlace I took a walk outside and snapped some pics of this Toyota.
I turned my lens upward to remind myself where I was and how crazy it was that all of this was built out of passion and persistence. I am not just talking about RWB but everything that I had just seen. Nothing makes me happier than seeing a person or people be successful at something they truly believe in. I left Fatlace that day with a big happy smile on my face.
