Once again seven days have passed and it is once again Monday. What does Monday bring this week? Who knows. Time for me to tell you about what I think is interesting. Let’s begin……
Defrost is this upcoming Sunday. If you are in the Regina area or are not too far from the Regina Area you must be there. The weather was looking iffy for a while there a few days ago but it looks like it should be a decent day as it stands now.

The XDC season started this past weekend in Arizona with both rounds one and two of the 2012 series. Originally Round one was supposed to be run at Irwindale but was cancelled after the track was closed. So XDC did a double dose of XDC by running a round on Friday and another in Saturday. Forest Wang walked away with 1st place in both rounds. Here is how the podiums looked for each of the days.
Round 1-
1- Forrest Wang
2- Vitaly Sopkin
3- Stewart Leask
Round 2-
1. Forrest Wang
2. Stewart Laesk
3. Danny George
Round 3 goes on May 20th in Orlando, Florida.

Formula 1 happened early Sunday Morning in Shanghai, China. Nico Rosberg won his first ever F1 race and while doing so gave the factory Mercedes team it’s first win since the mid nineteen-fifties. It was actually an all Mercedes-powered podium with Button and Hamilton finishing 2nd and 3rd respectively.

The last 8 or so laps were quite entertaining as tires began to give out and front runners like Kimi Raikkonen went from second place to 14th place in a matter of minutes. The same happened to Vettel with about 4 laps remaining.

The cars are now all loaded onto the Plane and will fly to Bahrain for next weekend. Bahrain was cancelled last year due to the unstable situation there but apparently they are going to try and give it a go anyway with not much changing in the last year.

The Long beach grand Prix took place yesterday and Will Power was victorious on the temporary road course. Rookie Simon Pagenauld finished 2nd while Canadian James Hinchcliffe finished 3rd. Next on the IndyCar schedule is Brazil in a couple of weeks followed by the Indy 500 on May 27th.

Speaking of IndyCar. Can you even call it ‘open wheel’ racing anymore? The new cars have protecting body work now to protect from wheel on wheel contact in order to avoid instances like the Dan Wheldon crash last year.

The GT-86 will be taking part in the Nurburgring 24-hour race next month. Endurance racing is cool and it shows that Toyota wants to showcase it’s new platform. Toyota is even planning to run the GT-86 in the Japanese ALL-Japan Rally Championship. Could this mean WRC in the near future. The rumour mill say yes!
