The battle continues this weekend as Formula One invades Malaysia for the second race of the season and it looks like this race will not disappoint. Button will be fired up with his win in Melbourne but you can be sure that Vettel will be right on his heals fighting to take the podium win like last year.
In the 2011 season Vettel took the podium with Button taking second trailing by 3.2 seconds, I believe that you will see much of the same this year… but who will be in front only time will tell. McLaren did seem faster on the high-speed sections whereas Red Bull picked up the pace in the lower speed sections, seeing as Malaysia is a faster course McLaren may have the upper hand.
It will be interesting to see how Red Bull compensates for the speed difference. On a personal note I will be keeping my eye on team Mercedes, yes I know Schumacher didn’t finish and Rosberg took 12th, but they had such a strong presence in the practices and qualifying laps. If they can break away from being caught in accidents I believe they will be fighting for podium finishes.
I do want to apologize for saying that the Speed channel was airing the race in Melbourne last weekend, as I was not aware Speed had to black out the race till 11:30pm came around when we were watching a black screen….
