A couple weeks ago, I traveled to Edmonton to check out 780Tuners’ Season Opener. I, along with my boyfriend Brooks, had the chance to see what it was all about last year. We enjoyed the scene in Edmonton and decided to do it again.
The best way I can describe this meet is it’s very similar to DODOlogic’s Defrost and Fallout. It’s just about gathering in a parking lot and seeing what others completed over the winter months.
For the first time (in what seems a long time), the weather FINALLY cooperated for a meet. The sunny skies brought in a lot of cars. I don’t know the final count of vehicles to be exact, but my guess is going to be around the 500+ mark.
There were two cars in particular that caught my attention. The first one was this Evo 7, freshly imported from Japan. Since I’m an Evo owner, seeing my first 7 in the flesh was pretty neat. I’d say it’s one of the first to land in Canada.
Without a doubt, the second vehicle that made heads turn was this LS1-swapped Honda S2000. I didn’t get to hear it run or see it drive away, but I’m sure it’s something else.
Overall, 780Tuners hosted a great meet to start off the season. If you’re interested in what Alberta has to offer, I highly recommend you check out this meet. You won’t be disappointed.
