Round 2 of the Winter RallyX was held at a private track southwest of Regina on Jan. 31 and of course, this was one of the days where the temperature dropped into the freezing range again. Each year, Tom Schutzman and his crew of awesome volunteers try and hold 5 events throughout the winter, weather permitting. These events are put together via a Facebook group and held on a private farmer’s field.
This round had 19 drivers in total. One really awesome thing that this event has is a ‘rental’ car. People are able to ‘rent’ out this ’97 Subaru Legacy if they don’t have a car of their own to track. That day, 13 people drove it.
There was also a ’92 Legacy on track that day, which used to be the old ‘rental’ car.
There will be three more rounds to be had this winter. The next event is Feb. 28; look for the Winter RallyX – Round 3 Facebook event.
