One of the most frequently asked questions we get is: ‘Why DODOlogic?’ Why not call it DRIFTlogic or STANCElogic, or anything remotely related to cars? Well, we like to think having a name like DODOlogic allows for some flexibility in what we can talk about. Things we can talk about on the site have been few and far between, and let’s be honest – a car blog from western Canada can only go so far. So why not broaden our horizons and grow our audience? After all, cars aren’t for everyone, but food is. People got to eat.
I know what you’re wondering… ‘How could you so easily shift to food?’ The answer is simple. If you happen to follow any of our main contributors on Instagram, you’ll notice they spend more of their time talking about food than they do about cars.
For example, look at the internet’s boyfriend, Dylan Evans (ylandevans on Instagram). Sure, Dylan knows a lot of car guys in the Pacific Northwest. But he’s also on a first name basis with the girl who works at Quiznos.
Being from Seattle also pretty much guarantees he’s a coffee aficionado.
Remember when a guy by the name of Dave Gohlke (dododaveg on Instagram) used to write the Monday Morning Rundown?
At some point that stopped and we were no longer kept up-to-date with the happenings in the automotive world. Dave is busy with his family now and even though he has little time for cars, he can apparently make all the time for beer. And who doesn’t like good beer?
We only hear from Devan Francis (DFfilms on Instagram) occasionally as videos take time to shoot and edit. What takes no time is snapping those artsy food and beer pictures from all over the west coast.
Devan doesn’t always drink beer, but when he does he makes sure it’s good.
Scott Deeley (dodoscott on Instagram) made his bones doing car features on the site, but it turns out the dude can run some serious BBQ.
Much like cars in Saskatchewan, that old barbecue can’t be fired up year round. That’s when you stir-fry.
At this point, you’re probably wondering where your old friend Ryan Benoit (dodoryanb on Instagram) fits into this food blog. Well, don’t you worry about me. I’m sure I’ll find my place in this new uncharted adventure that is food hunting… I’ve been practicing.
Now, we don’t want to deviate too far from our original mission to bring you that uniquely Canadian perspective. So to solidify our commitment to Canadian content, here are some pictures of poutine.
I hope you are as hungry for change as we are here at DODOlogic!
