I don’t usually buy into this whole throwback Thursday routine; I think I have maybe thrown it back once or twice, but it’s not a habit of mine. It’s probably because a part of me loathes mainstream things for reasons unknown to me. That being said, I don’t mind when others partake.
Still, I swallowed my pride, bit the bullet and threw it back a few months ago. Summer’s obviously gone now and autumn on the prairies is usually short-lived. It won’t be long until winter consumes the next few months of our lives. Most people find ways to enjoy the winter by snowboarding, playing hockey or snowmobiling. But I’ll be honest: I’m not built for those things and the cold weather makes it real hard to hold a camera outside. So, most of my winter is spent plotting out my summer months or reminiscing about the past and wondering when I’ll see a food truck again.
I didn’t actually spend a whole lot of time in Saskatchewan this summer. While I was in the area, I tried to be involved in the local car scene as much as possible. One of the privileges of writing for DODOlogic is you get to plan meets on your schedule.
That being said, I made certain the Bon Burger Car Meat with DODOlogic happened while I was at home. Mostly because I love Bon Burger’s burgers, but also because it was nice to see everyone.
Winter cars, winter tires and normal ride heights are what the next few months will be filled with. It also means my creative pursuit for fresh content will soon begin.
I will take this time to bask in the glory of wide wheels and low ride heights because it will be a while before I see them again on the prairies.
A shining ray of hope is that the influx of Suburus in Saskatchewan provide some type of outlet for us car enthusiasts. But until then, I will be counting the days until our next car meet.
