This past weekend was Thanksgiving in Canada. It’s also that time of year when you realize winter is inevitable and soon all the nice cars will go off to hibernate. It was cold out at Kings Park Speedway on Saturday, Oct. 12 for 2013’s Pumpkin Bash, and by the end of the day I could barely make my hands into a fist. But it was totally worth it.
I was super glad to be able to go out and shoot one last event before the freezing snow hits the ground. I was also happy to see some bros go out there and kill it; Carter Jackson in the white Kouki S14 always does.
Jon Fiorante and his white R32 Skyline was probably my favourite to watch. With his new angle kit and the torque of the straight 6, there was no lack of smoke when he was running.
Although he’s no stranger to the site, it was my first time seeing Chris Gonzalez and his crazy V8-powered S14. Saskatchewan is, of course, where Gonzo first cut his teeth on a drift track, so it was nice to see him make the trip from Winnipeg.
Kolton Ryan of Drop Dead Drift made the trip in from Weyburn to spend some time on the track.
Blair McIntosh has now become what seems to be a permanent fixture of Regina drift events. I’m not sure if he’s missed a drift event in Regina since he started drifting.
Works Engineering Canada always has a few sponsored cars at Saskatchewan automotive events.
Fellow DODOlogic contributor Adrian Ahmadi and his SR22det-powered 180SX even made an appearance this weekend.
We will have more pictures on our facebook, so keep checking back.
Here’s a quick video of the highlights from the Big Entry Competition where Carter Jackson took 1st, Jon Fiorante came in 2nd and Kurt Porter came in 3rd.
