They say only two things are certain in life: death and taxes. But we’ve all been warned about dealing in absolutes. Plenty of things are certain in my life aside from death and taxes, as I’m sure they are for you. One thing that’s been certain for the last four years is that Kurtis Goat’s S13.4 never stays the same. Each year I can pretty much count on Kurtis to change something, and each time I think he’s peaked he raises the bar again.
If you were to measure cars by some type of imaginary internet currency, Kurtis’ car would be worth a fortune (not that it isn’t in real life). A simple Instagram photo of his car can turn the internet into hot fire. However, this isn’t new for Kurtis; each new variation of his Nissan leaves most onlookers with their jaws on the floor.
Long before I met Kurt, pictures of his car could be found on sites like Speedhunters, Canibeat or any other site that makes me look foolish with the amount of legitimacy they bring to the game.
You can’t fake the style that Kurt brings to S-chassis. Yes, you can copy him, but by the time you save up and execute the Kurtis Goat-style, he’s already changed the game again. I’ve been lucky enough to follow Kurt’s progress over the years — not only as a guy who builds cars, but as a guy who drives them.
For a few years Kurt stayed true to Nissan roots and ran a SR20DET, but in a world where V8’s occupy a large portion of real-estate in the pit, Kurt decided to upgrade. A 2JZ-GTE found its way into this S13 chassis and that 2J is fully built with a single.
The car sits on a mix of wheels that can range from Alstadts, to Rezax or some OZ’s. They ‘re tucked under some 30mm front fenders and 50mm in the rear.
It all comes together quite nicely with the Supermade kit and that Drift Farm gray.
This whole chassis is pretty much Kurt’s vision from start to finish, not to mention he built most of it himself with a little help from his friends. The car was tuned by Jimmy at Vex Performance in Calgary. As it sits, the car makes 447 RWP @ 14psi, but it’s expected that the car will easily be making 550+ very soon.
Like I said, Kurtis Goat will never do the same thing twice and each version is better than the last.
