I’ve known Keith for about a year now, and he and his girlfriend have become great advocates for the VW scene in Saskatchewan. It would be fair to say that Keith is my consigliere for all things “Das Auto.” So when Keith rolled into Defrost on his new AccuAir air-ride system, paired with his BBS r090, I knew right away his car would become a wheel post.
Keith is pretty meticulous when it comes to his 2000 Jetta. When I asked him for a short rundown on his VR6, he came back with a huge list of parts. I also have a feeling that Keith will tightly scrutinize this article until it’s perfect in his eyes. So don’t be surprised if it changes a few times during the day.
But I’ve come to learn that’s just how Keith is and that’s why his car looks so cool. Keith researched air-ride up and down before committing to the AccuAir system. He even offered advice when I put air in the Toyota.
As I mentioned earlier, the wheels are BBS rc090, the fronts are 17×8 et 17 and the rears are 17×8 et 15. The faces of the wheel have been painted VW mk2 fire and ice purple. The RS bolts have been powder coated and when you pair that all together with the polished lip, you have a pretty unreal wheel setup.
I assume Keith knew I was going to file his car under a wheel post, because he made sure they were nice and shiny.
Keith had two ‘thank you’s’ to dole out for helping his car come together in such glorious form. The first were the people at Open Road Tuning for being so awesome through the entire progress. The second is to his girlfriend who bought him a custom air tank last year, which led to this build.
So, in keeping with VW’s old slogan, “Aus Liebe zum Automobil” (For the Love of the Automobile), it wouldn’t be fair to not list all the facts about this car. Here’s the list Keith sent me:
