Hello People. Welcome to the Rundown, something that hasn’t seen the internet in quite some time now. I will try and get back on the weekly schedule here for everyone but until I am done this shift work at my real life work I won’t make any guarantees. Well let’s get this show on the road. Lots of interesting things to touch on today.
First things first. There is a lot of incorrect/assumed information floating around about our annual Defrost meet. Here is the truth: Absolutely no details have been announced at this point. The only thing we will confirm is that it will take place on Saturday, April 27th. Beyond that, the location and time are still being finalized. Trust us, as soon as we know we have things locked up everyone will know.

Still on the subject of Defrost. We are still looking for sponsors to come on board and help make this meet happen. A lot of you may not realize this but we just don’t show up at a parking lot and hang out. There are rental costs, insurance cost etc. If you are a local business that wants to help out shoot us an email and we can let you know how you can be a part of this highly anticipated event.

Last week it was announced that on Sunday April 28th Driftwest will be hosting an event at Kings Park Speedway in Regina. Make sure you head out and support this and hopefully it will open more opportunities in the future for drifting in Regina/Saskatchewan.

Still on Drifting in Canada. It would appear that DMCC has been purchased by G1 Tour. G1 Tour is out of Quebec and owns the St. Croix Circuit. Maybe this means the series will once again leave the borders of Quebec. Maybe not. What we do know is that all driver fees are being waived for the season. Now hopefully they employ someone that can write in English so the rest of the country can follow what the fuck is going on out there.

Round 3 of the 2013 WRC season took place in Leon/Guanajuato, Mexico. Why I haven’t been down to see this in the flesh yet I don’t know. Sebastien Ogier won the event with Mikko Hirvonen and Thierry Neuville following in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Hoonigan Racing Division’s Ken Block finished in 7th place. Not bad for a guy that didn’t test, let alone sit in his WRC car since last year. The next stop is Portugal next month.

Formula One is ready to start the season this weekend in Australia. I’ll be honest, I haven’t paid much attention to the F1 off-season. I better do a crash course before the season starts this weekend.

It sounds like Global RallyCross is close to locking down a round at this year’s SEMA Show in Las Vegas once again. Our source stumbled upon this by chance. This source stumbles on lots of things in his travels.

Formula D is ready to start up in about a months time at Long Beach. One thing the Formula D off-season is sure to produce is a lot of changes. These changes also seem to happen right up until the week of the first event. So I am not going to get to deep into all of the changes yet since they could change again three times but this season looks to be pretty exciting with a lot of new look teams/chassis.

For everyone that was hoping for the Nissan GT-R’s triumphant return to touring car racing in Australia they were disappointed last October when it was announced that that Altima would be the bodywork used. Kelly Racing is campaigning two Altimas in this years schedule and more teams are expected to hop on the bandwagon in the coming years. You will be able to see the Altima’s take on the Falcon’s and Commodores in May when V8 Supercars make their first ever trip to America and run the new F1 track in Austin, Texas in May. The four 100KM races will be televised live on SPEED.
