Winter in the prairies is full of monotony. Cold, vicious monotony. Yes, there are plenty of winter activities you can fill your time with, but nothing can really replace cars for any real automotive enthusiast. Sometimes against better logic you get the urge to drive your summer car.
While out at the shop, we decided to break up some of that winter monotony and take the Silvia for a short spin.
The car started easily but needed a bit of a running start to make it through the powdery snow.
Nearly bald all-seasons don’t really suit the conditions of snow-packed streets and minus-20 weather.
This isn’t an exercise in drifting, nor is this remotely a claim to be anywhere near drifting. This is one of those things that’s for fun. It’s something you do just to put a smile on our face and remind us of why we wait so longingly for summer.
After the quick 8-minute drive, the Silvia was returned to its place in the shop where it will slumber out the rest of it’s winter hibernation.
