Welcome to the Tuesday Morning Rundown. Long weekends are always a good time to sit back and reflect how great it would be if the 4-day work week was to be made standard. I can tell you from experience that it is pretty sweet. Now that we have talked about a completely unrelated topic to cars, we can talk about cars. Let’s begin…….

Yesterday was the annual Access Communications Labour Day Show ‘n Shine that they literally hold in their backyard. It sounds like once again there were well over 400 cars being shown off and our very own man of the century RyanB stopped by to check things out. He tells me he will have a post of pictures to share with everyone later this week.

Speaking of cars in parking lots, DODOlogic has this little thing going on this upcoming weekend called Fallout. As many have figured out this years edition of Fallout won’t be held at the normal location due to the fact that the parking lot in now a 2-foot deep dirt hole. The good thing about that is that we could return there next year for Defrost and it will be a nice brand new lot. The bad thing about all of this is trying to lock down the replacement venue for Fallout. As it stands right now it will be held in Lot 14 at SIAST. Watch the website and Facebook page for updates all week.

Round 3 of the Driftwest Series went down in Penticton, BC over the weekend and our very own ‘Hotboy’, Jordan Hall qualified 4th and placed 3rd after meeting up with Alex Lee in the finals. Alex finished 1st BTW. We will have event coverage soon. Keep your eyes open.

Formula 1 returned from it’s month-long vacation with a race in Belgium. Jenson Button won the whole thing in his Mclaren-Mercedes. Sebastien Vettel finished 2nd and Kimmi Raikkonen 3rd. Next up on the schedule is Monza this weekend. Romain Grosjean won’t be allowed to play next weekend in Monza after playing bumper cars in the first turn on Sunday.

The Grand Prix of Baltimore kept IndyCar fans entertained on the weekend. It had a little of everything and Ryan Hunter-Reay was the first to cross the finish line. Ryan Briscoe was second while Simon Pagenaud was third. Canadian James Hinchcliffe finished a couple of laps back in 15th. The 2012 IndyCar schedule concludes with a 500-mile race on the Fontana oval in a couple of weeks.

You probably remember Targa Newfoundland from last year when Zahir Rana from ZR Auto skillfully placed a yellow Enzo into the sea. All the press coverage has landed him in hot water even with it being months after the incident. In photos and video of the mishap you can see Zahir wearing a race suit that was once worn by Reubens Barichello. The suit came from a time when it was quite normal for Tobacco companies to sponsor race cars and Health Canada hasn’t allowed that in years. Because of this Targa Newfoundland’s president has found himself hounded by Health Canada over allowing a competitor to wear a racesuit with the Marlboro branding on it. The ghost of this crash will never leave him.

I leave you this week with RyanB in action covering a drift event in Poland.
