It’s that time of the year for me when everyday seems to be a birthday, or an anniversary or a some kind of important day. I guess it is the way June is going to be for me, or at least for the foreseeable future. July’s calendar, on the other hand, is a wide open canvas with the exception of me yearly canoe trek into the wilderness for a week. That is about to change as we here at DODOlogic look to travel in to somewhat unfamiliar territory. I will tell you more , after the ‘click’……..
Everyone in the awesome province of Saskatchewan, and specifically Saskatoon, should mark down July 14th on their calendars. If everything goes as planned and falls into place, DODOlogic will be hosting a meet in the wonderful city of Saskatoon. Keep your eyes open in the next week or so for more information on this first for us.

Speaking of Saskatoon. I spent Father’s day up there yesterday with my wife and Daughter. I checked out the new Cabela’s, made the required trip to Fuddruckers for lunch and then we made our way to the Midtown to do some shopping. I met a nice young man commented on my DODOlogic t-shirt and a conversation continued. It turns out the person that knew about DODOlogic was none other than Braedon Gaudet who just happens to be fellow contributor Ryan ‘Soup’ Gaudet’s brother. Small world.

I was checking out the Twitterverse yesterday to see what kind of stuff was going on when I noticed the following tweet from @sarasacher: “Let’s go do some dodologic shit”. What the hell is that supposed to mean?

Round 2 of the 2012 Driftwest series runs this Saturday at Castrol Raceway in Edmonton. You should go and check it out.

Speaking of Driftwest, Our main man in Edmonton, Tony, tells us we will be seeing Round One coverage from Last weekend very soon. Maybe even later today type soon.

The 24 Hours of Le Mans took place this weekend in France. I didn’t get much of a chance to watch it, but when I did check it out I didn’t anything except of a mention on the ticker of the Nissan Deltawing concept. It always seemed to be leading it’s class. Problem is it was the only car in it’s class. After some scouring of the internet, I ‘think’ found out that it made contact with a Toyota and then left the race. I thought there would be more coverage of the Batmobile like concept considering all the hype over the car the last couple of months.

Audi once again dominated the LMP1 class of chassis while Honda and Nissan owned the LMP2 class. The GT classes saw the usual Ferrari and Aston Martins at the top.

The IndyCar circuit visited the flat Milwaukee Mile on Saturday for the 8th round of the season. Canadian James Hinchcliffe continues to impress with a 3rd place finish. Ryan Hunetr-Reay finished 1st while Tony Kanaan was 2nd. Next up on the IndyCar schedule is Iowa followed by Edmonton and Toronto.

IndyCar was scheduled to visit China later this summer. In China, beer festivals turn out to be more important though and the China organizing committee cancelled the race early last week. I’m not sure if I agree with this or not as I like beer and racing.

Round 4 of the Formula D schedule takes place this weekend in Wall, NJ. If you aren’t in Edmonton watching the Driftwest series, watch the live coverage on the Driftstream.
There was also a Grassroots Drift competition yesterday.
I’m not sure who all drove, and who won it, but I was able to watch some of it live on the EvergreenDriftStream.
As for news, there’s already a video up of a miata crashing quite bad

This is awesome. This weekend I was thinking it’d be awesome to have a mid summer meet between defrost and fallout in Stoon. It’s too bad my new car won’t be here by then 🙁
