It’s Monday. It’s also the day after the 2nd Annual Defrost Spring Meet here in Regina and today we will mainly talk about what was perhaps the most anticipated thing since the the latest iPhone release. That being said we will officially take credit for starting summer in these parts. Let’s get this started……
Where do I start. First we should thank Taylor Scion for once again stepping up to the plate and helping us bring this to the masses. We are super excited that they were once again on board supporting the local scene/community and we hope we can continue our relationship for future events. Everyone should head down and see Janson and his crew if they are in the market for a new car. I hear they got some fancy new model coming in next month.
Second, Red Bull was awesome and supplied us with product to distribute to attendees. Some people took advantage and drank too much of it and it showed.
And last, but not least, Chase from Sakurajima Express was a last minute addition to the roster of supporters. He brought some cool wheels and an even cooler car that attracted a lot of attention.
So we ask you to remember these three names and support the companies that support events like Defrost.

I will say on behalf of everyone involved organizing the event we were blown away by the number of people that took the time to show up. At last count there was 270+ cars that made their way to a parking spot within the meet.
What is probably the most impressive thing, to me at least, is the number of cars that came down from Saskatoon for the day. Above is a photo of the convoy of cars that traveled south to Regina from Saskatoon. Unbelievable!!! What do you say Regina people, should we return the favour and try to outdo the Saskatoon showing on a trip north? Maybe there will be an opportunity to do just that this summer……..

Talking to some of the more ‘seasoned’ members of the enthusiast community the common denominator that I heard was how the variety of styles was nice. While they don’t necessarily understand some of the trends, they appreciate the work that is put into the cars.

Now we start to plan for Fallout at the end of summer/beginning of fall. We have some ideas we may try and work into it. If anyone has any suggestions or are interested in sponsoring/supporting future events please get a hold of us and let us know!!

With Defrost behind us, it is time to talk about our second favourite topic. That topic being Chris Gonzalez. Chris competed in round one of Midwest Drift Union in Indiana on Saturday and came away with a 5th place finish. Not bad considering the day before he left he was publicly scorning his car after testing in a top secret Winnipeg parking lot. Do you want to support Chris and his 2012 season? Buy a Gonzo Drift shirt from either our online store or from Chris himself. All proceeds are going straight into his pocket.

Formula 1 happened in Bahrain yesterday. If you look past all the hoopla surrounding the event you will see that Sebastien Vettel once again found his way back on top of the podium just when you thought maybe he didn’t have it anymore, or the Renault was suffering. Lotus made a statement with Raikkonen finishing second and Grosjean 3rd. Things are getting interesting in the driver standings with a variety of drivers collecting points over the first few races.

The next round of the WRC schedule takes place this upcoming weekend in Argentina. This will be Ken Block’s second event of the season. <Insert Ken Block Joke here>

I got nothing else. Watch for coverage of the meet over the next couple of days. I’m tired and I am going to bed. Have a good week!
Looks like it was a lot of fun. Were any of the guys from alberta invited? Who knew there were that many people in SK with a love of fine machines!
Several guys from Alberta/Manitoba were invited by the looks of it. That it is a long way to be expected to drive for a car ‘meet’ though. Who knows. Maybe Defrost/Fallout are ‘destination events’ now. Only time will tell.
