With the new car season upon us I took a look back through some old pictures and found a few shots I took from events and meets back in the ’09 to ’10 days. Really something to see how much friend’s cars have changed in only a few short years. Lets begin…
This line up is from a QCA Meet from September 26, 2010.
And another showing everyone hanging out.
Here’s a shot of our own RyanB (if you can see him) hitting up the track at the last drift practice to be held at 3Flags on June 26, 2010.
The rain soaked pits from the kick off to the doomed 2010 Drift Season. The Drift-Away Camp aka Drift Matsuri aka Drift Monsoon was held back on May 22, 2010.
Despite the poor conditions, drivers were drifting non-stop even through heavy downpours.
And of course a small sample of the results of said weekend.
Going back even further we arrive on September 27, 2009. This is the date the Flatland Exotic Tour made a stop in Regina. I’m sure many of you locals remember being at this event. I had a ton of pictures from this but here are a few to show how packed full of people the parking lot was. I shouldn’t have to remind you guys of the lambo that briefly caught fire at this event.
I couldn’t leave out the Maserati MC12 that came as part of the tour. How often do you see something like this in Regina?
And to wrap up this post, the big QCA Meet from August 23, 2009.
I see a recurring trend as these meets, parking lots, cars, and dudes standing around talking. Sounds about right.
This is one of my favorite pictures. For a little history lesson, these were the early days of DODOlogic, when we had no idea what the hell we were doing. This lead to some confusion that we had created some kind of kick ass car crew. Maybe our fancy photo shoot going on in the background didn’t help matters but from what I remember everyone who was still around at this point was having a good time.
Here are a few strangers. These two have seen some changes since this photo was taken just before heading to the QCA Meet. Odd to see them in their original colours.
that last picture is OG hahaha
Drift monsoon!!!
The rain couldn’t stop us,
Soup stood out there in the rain and wind ALLL weekend!
That was a great event, the gatherings and driving, event the trip to and from Regina. Awsome!
