Welcome to the Rundown on this first Monday of March. Spring and the automotive season is just around the corner and the people are starting to get antsy. That being said it is exciting times here in the DODOlogic camp. Planning for the 2012 season in well underway and the anticipation is getting to us too. Let’s talk about it and some other things from the automotive world…..
First we will talk about a little milestone we reached over the weekend on Facebook. Our ‘Fan’ page reached the 1,000 like mark. While you may think 1,000 isn’t much, I recently read that only 5% of all Facebook Pages have more than 1,000 likes. So that being considered, it is a pretty big accomplishment for a little blog in the middle of the barren Canadian prairies and we appreciate ALL of your support over the last few years. If you haven’t already liked us on Facebook what are you waiting for? Like us @ http://www.facebook.com/DODOlogic today!

Our west-coast motion picture maven actually put together a little thank you four our fans. Check it out!

Last night we fired up an online storefront which is accessible from both the website and our Facebook page. Currently we have the Gonzo Drift shirts along with our newly re-stocked “News Print” bumper stickers. In the coming weeks we may actually even have more DODOlogic stuff for sale.

We will be announcing the date and location of the Second Annual ‘Defrost Spring Meet’ in the coming weeks. Right now it is looking like it will be mid to late April.

Round One of the 2012 Driftwest series that was to be held at Autoclearing Speedway in Saskatoon has been cancelled and rescheduled for June the 10th at Stratotech in St. Albert. One has to wonder if this is because of the limited course configurations of an oval with no useable infield. I am telling you, paved infields at ovals make the drifting world go ’round.

The Formula D season is just under a Month away now. Not much exciting has come up in the past week except for the announcement of Toshiki Yoshioka returning to FD in 2012 piloting an unknown car sponsorred by RS-R and Nitto Tires.

Formula One starts up the weekend after next in Australia. Is Vettel a shoe in for number one again this year? I guess we will see how everything pans out.

WRC Round 3 hits the gravel of central Mexico this weekend. Ken Block makes his first of three WRC appearances. Just a word of advice for him. After he crashes out before the end of the 3rd stage he should head to Panteon Taurino @ Plaza Mayor in Leon. They serve the best Bull huevos I have ever unknowingly sampled.
