Forget about it Friday? We make an honest attempt to post as much original content as possible. Of course it is not always possible. It would seem that we almost forgot to make a post today, and that just isn’t acceptable. So if you don’t like what I am about to post you can just “Forget about it.”
I love traveling to car events, it gives me chance to meet new people and catch up with others that I haven’t seen in a while. It also gives me chance to experience something new and different. I was lucky because my real job has an office in Vancouver and I was able to work there while I was away from home for Nissan Fest.
This office was conveniently located in downtown Vancouver on the Water Front. So every morning I would wake up and catch the train to the Water Front Station and be at my work. I have been to Vancouver a lot but the scenery never gets old. The view from the office building is what you have been looking at in the last few pictures.
One of my co-workers was nice enough to lend me his 70-200mm F2.8 IS version II, so I took full advantage of the situation.
On my lunch break I took the lens for a test drive. My co-workers didn’t seem to mind that I looked like a huge tourist, nor did the delightful staff at Meat & Bread.
I love traveling and going to delicious places to eat. Meat & Bread was of course no exception. There porchetta was amazing, crispy and juicy all rolled into a bun.
After finishing up at Meat &Bread, my co-workers decided that I should also try Cartems. I don’t usually eat donuts but these were amazing. I had the Earl Grey which is apparently their best seller.
I was tempted to try their Maple Bacon donuts but didn’t want to have a heart attack.
On the way back I snapped a few pictures of Save on Meats, a delightful diner that had a T.V. show made about it on the O Network… don’t ask me how I know that.
Vancouver is funny, we ended on the borders of East Hastings and I didn’t even realize it. Even then the stuff around was pretty trendy and I just snapped away with my borrowed lens. I found lots of great photo opportunities around every corner.
I bet you were starting to think that I wasn’t going to post any pictures of cars. Well, I wanted to see how the lens held up. So after standing on the corner outside of my office building for a few minutes I came up with these.
They aren’t the usual drift cars that we usually post but I was just trying to get a feel for the lens.
After work, I grabbed the train home and rounded out my day with some Flying Wedge Pizza.
