We receive a lot of feedback on what you readers want to see, and it turns out we can find that kind of content right in our driveways. One thing we haven’t done much of is talk about our own personal cars it seems. Jordan’s Miata is one of the cars we get a lot of requests for. So while going through some pictures it made me think; we don’t really need Groundhogs Day anymore, Jordan Hall can just take his Miata out and see if it casts a shadow, they’re pretty much the same color anyways.
Usually, with our winters in Saskatchewan, it is unheard of to even consider unpacking a drift car from the garage, let alone taking it for a spin on the street. With a rad full of water and his front bumper removed, Jordan took full advantage of what seemed like a spring day in the middle of winter.
The first thing you may notice is the perfect color scheme, this coffee & black roadster is very well put together. Jordan was able to snag up the set Project G sideskirts you see here, which at the time were the only set in Canada. With the color scheme trending onto the sideskirts, they appear almost factory but aggressive enough to flow with his trunk spoiler and front lip. With the front bumper and lip taken off……
you can see what is usually a somewhat hidden front mount intercooler. If you haven’t guessed by now, yes this Miata is turbocharged. What makes this car move is an SR20 redtop motor from Nissan. Jordan was able to build the bottom end internals last year and put the power to good use via a powerFC ecu and 14 pound of boost. With a few new additions….
like this STANCE oversized water pump pully, which prevents cavitation at high rpms, which is where this drift car spends most of its time. It is amazing how this motor even fits in the engine bay. A lot of work was put into just making everything fit properly, a custom 3″ exhaust was needed to help vent the GT2860 turbo out the back. Also new, is his oil filter relocation. As you can tell by the photo, taking out the oil filter from the top of the bay with a few inches of clearance needed a lucky rabbits foot.
When the lights go up..it looks like a pretty face with lipstick! The rear tire tucking in the back is a good example of how low it really is, though it looks deceptively high from the lack of front bumper. The 15×8’s you see here are in the works of being replaced, I am told to not expect anything overly over the top, as this is a drift car and well, shit happens. This is also my favorite picture, because he isn’t even watching the road. I would bet he is watching his AEM wideband gauge or AVCR boost controller, with an interior like this…
I would be constantly playing around with everything too. By far the best thing you can do for your track car is have it setup comfortably, one of his newer modifications is his shift lever extension, which places the NISMO butt-plug knob right next to the hydro e-brake. It’s the little things like this that count which is why I too, like most of you, are a fan of this car.
Should have just got a dildo Bubbler 330mm shift knob instead of extending it lol
