It’s Monday. I don’t really have much to say. Let’s just get to business. Here we go……
The first round of the 2012 World Rally Championship is in the books after running Monte Carlo for the first time in a few years. Sebastien Ogier made his debut for Volkswagen by piloting a Skoda This year while VW completes development of the Polo R which will debut in 2013. Another addition to the paddock this year is the MINI WRC Team which is supported by Prodrive. At the end of the weekend the MINI fared much better than the Skoda. Final placement looked like this:
1. Loeb/Elena Citroen Total World Rally Team 4:32.39.9
2. Sordo/del Barrio Mini WRC Team 4:35:25.4
3. Solberg/Patterson Ford World Rally Team 4:35:54.1

Ken Block. Where are you? Are you doing WRC this year? The dude hasn’t told us what he has planned for 2012. I am sure he will have a video out soon with Monster babes dancing around his car letting us know though.

A few years back Jeremy Clarkson showed us what the smallest car ever produced was. It was the Peel P50, a very small, 3-wheeled car powered by a 49cc pea-shooter. The original Peel P50 was produced back in the 60’s and now it has once again returned to production. The only thing that has changed is the addition of an electric motor option and the price. Back when it was first sold it had a sticker price of about $500. Five-hundred bucks in 1962 money is about $3600 in 2012 money. So you would expect to be able to pick up a P50 for about $4000 right? Wrong! Try $11,000.
