The world has become a much smaller place thanks to the internet, it allows us to meet people we would never have the chance to otherwise. One such person is Othniel Baxter who I met on zilvia (for those who don’t know what zilvia is it is an awesome forum check it out at www.zilvia.net). Othniel tells me he started drifting roughly 6 years ago in his 240sx but had the desire for something a little more unique so he decided to convert his NA 2JZGE SC300 into a 1JZGTE and took it sliding.
We here in Canada (excluding Quebec) are fortunate that we can import cars directly from Japan saving us the cost of motor swaps etc. but that doesn’t stop our neighbors down south from building impressive cars out of their American counterparts.
This ruby red Lexus is kept low with MAX coilovers, sports an oem lip kit and sits on 18×10.5 -something and 18×11 -3 Work Equips. Camber adjustments and other suspension parts help achieve the fitment and extra angle while ls400 brake calipers help it stop. A Bride seat and old school Momo wheel add to the drift car feel.
Alas there is a sad side to this story; Othniel got a little too friendly with a wall one day and the car is no longer as pretty as it is pictured above, however this brings me to the battle royal portion of this post. Mr. Baxter and some of his friends are currently engaged in a build off this winter, the winner gets paid entry to East Coast Bash courtesy of the runners up. Follow the drama and the builds at their local forum: http://www.tristatetuners.com/forum/showthread.php?t=120747.
