In true blog fashion, we thought it would be nice to do a year in review. However, we underestimated just how much DODOlogic did this year. That being said, until we can gather all the information, I thought I would do the selfish thing and look back over my year. I decided to do this last night and what should have been a ‘best of’ post quickly became ‘my favorite photos.’ Finally this post turned into the ‘Hey! Here are some random photos from my year.’ So in no particular order, here is my 2011 in random photos.
Formula D in Seattle was a highlight for me this year. Not only being able to attend but to do it media style was pretty rad. Also, it turns out Walker Wilkerson has a pretty photogenic S13.
Seattle was all kinds of special, it was an amazing track with amazing people and amazing scenery.
I visited a few tracks this year and the home of Drift Union was probably the most unique. Something about shooting cars on the West Coast is much different then doing it on the prairies. Penticton Speedway is on top of a mountain next to a valley and surrounded by some bodies of water.
Shawn Browne was nice enough to set us up with a media pass and an unreal weekend.
The other two members were nice enough to throw it down. Although, I think they do that on a regular basis. It is crazy to me how big these guys have gotten and it is well deserved. Logan’s Subaru has become notorious with grassroots drifting.
I was lucky enough to see Steve drift twice this year, one time his car was all purple and the second time it was purple and white.
Two things I did not foresee happening this year is meeting Drift Safari and then them being so rad. Each member of this West Coast team is more awesome than the next, that or they are all equally awesome.
Every year in review should include Kurtis Goat’s S13 because every year it is different, yet always in style.
A good part of my summer was spent stalking Alex Lee, he was a good sport about it.
DMCC West had its ups and downs and then it’s eventual demise. One of the ups was seeing Devin Horsley and his fun hat get on the podium.
Toronto was another place I visited with my camera in hand. It was of course for the Canadian International Auto Show.
The Auto Show was a bit out of the norm for me because I usually try to find modded cars to shoot. None the less it was an experience and lots of fun.
Before heading to Seattle I spent the week in Vancouver. It just so happened that the day I arrived DTP was going on. So I skipped dinner and spent the evening in the rain taking pictures of cool cars.
These are just a few of the pictures and places that I had chance to visit. The one thing I can’t really capture is all the amazing people I met along the way. Twenty-eleven was a big year for DODO, the site has grown exponentially and we are already cooking up a game plan for 2012. I would like to thank everyone who has followed our exploits and wish you all the best in 2012.
