I had never been to Western Speedway before but had only heard the stories of the notorious “Island style” drift trains, haggard drift cars and for the media, a place where you could literally get as close to the cars as you dared to.
I had been informed that Capital City Drift would be holding a special Halloween themed event that would require participants to dress up in costumes and that pumpkins would be used as clipping points and in some cases; targets. At one point I ended up filming from a small area in between two parts of the track and once the pumpkin debris started to fly I was laughing from both fear and the comedic value that any person would get when you see a AE86 Corolla literally smash four pumpkins in a row.
Unfortunately, I had some camera issues during the event which resulted in a lack of overall footage, but all-in-all I had a great time amongst the chaos.
KDF in its most purest form.

Hopefully the tracks insurence provider did not see this. It’s cool to stand there with a pylon for a d**k until the track bans drifting because their insurance won’t cover it any more.
shut up^^
That’s just the way things work. Some guys in Manitoba had a guy standing on the track during a practice event. Their insurence provider saw the video and doubled the cost per driver to insure an event. Without insurance tracks can’t let people drive. I get that it feels cool to have everyone see you out on the track while cars fly by and it is fun to watch. But everyone complains and is mad at track owners after drifting events are banned.
everyone on track signs a release form, voiding all insurance claims on track.
