Seems appropriate to quote a band from Vegas, especially this time of year. The SEMA Show is quickly approaching and as you may have either guessed or heard, we are heading down there. The SEMA Show has become an annual tradition for us. This will be my fourth visit to the show and I can still muster up some excitement.
I will admit visiting the show has been a privilege but over the years my demeanor has changed. My first visit to SEMA was as a fan and enthusiast. I don’t think I even have pictures anywhere to show you, but if I did I am sure they are of me standing next to cars and celebrities.
Two years after my first visit, I returned and at that point DODO was just starting and none of us had real cameras, nor did we understand the importance of one. We just wanted pictures and lots of them, it didn’t seem to matter if they were good or not.
You can tell we were a little over excited to post pictures of the show as nothing is watermarked.
For any of you who followed us back then, thank you. I can only imagine how frustrating it must have been.
Our last visit was a big improvement from the first two visits. We actually watermarked things (even if the colors were wrong) and attended press conferences to find out what is going on the industry.
A lot has changed since my first trip to SEMA, DODOlogic has gone from non-existent to being recognized as legit media. Looking back over these pictures it blows my mind how that ever came to be but it did. It wasn’t until I looked at these pictures that I actually got excited about our up-coming trip. I am not excited for what I will see, but rather for what we can show everyone.
With all that being said I don’t think we will ever lose our perspective of what is important to us, but rather get better at communicating to you, the reader. So I hope you guys keep reading and see what we come up with at this years SEMA Show.
