Happy Monday, I hope everyone is enjoying their day off.
DMCC Round 2 went down yesterday at Stratotech Park in Fort Sask Alberta, DODOlogic was there to cover the event in detail, so keep an eye out for coverage coming this week.
Congrats to Jon Schildwachter, Devin Horsley, and Aaron Day for their podium finish.
Formula 1 stopped at the Hungaroring in Budapest Hungary for quite a drama filled race as wet weather had teams scrambling to decide on tire selections throughout the race. Nick Heidfeld’s Renault caught fire while leaving the pits, apparently the pit stop went long causing an overheated exhaust to catch fire, check out the video below as the side of the car actually exploded while track marshal’s were putting out the flames.
Podium went:
Jenson Button
Sebastian Vettel
Fernando Alonso
Back on Tuesday July 26th, the AMS ALPHA 12 GT-R made a world first as the first R35 GTR to make an 8 second pass, if that’s not cool enough keep watching til the end of the video to see some great reactions and smiles from what looks to be some of the AMS crew riding shotgun on highway pulls.
X Games in LA wrapped up yesterday as well, I personally didn’t watch too much of it but I did catch some Enduro X, I thought it was interesting to say the least, many different obstacles on a tight course made for a lot of falls over the race.
Travis Pastrana was also out in force in what was dubbed “Pastranathon” which would have had Travis compete in the Best Trick event Thursday and Freestyle event Friday. Then fly to Indianapolis for his NASCAR Nationwide debut on Saturday and then finally fly back to LA and compete in RallyCross on Sunday. Didn’t quite happen when Travis badly broke his right leg on Thursday with a 720 attempt know as the TP Roll. So to sum it up, no NASCAR debut but with some help from Subaru to rig up a hand throttle, Travis was able to compete, with some difficulty, in the RallyCross finishing fourth to end a disappointing weekend.
That’s it for this Rundown, have a great week!
