There was a lot going on this past weekend and I will try and throw it all together into a neat little package. We have DMCC, MDU, Drift Union, Hogg, Vegas and some some other goodies. Here we go…….
First we will talk about this past weekends DMCC West action at Race City in Calgary. The Pro-Am drivers took to the track on Saturday and it would appear a well dressed friend of DODOlogic that goes by the name of Spencer Hogg walked away with the win.
The Pro-Am final podium looked like this:
1st Spencer Hogg
2nd Jesse Wiesner
3rd Stephen Lind

The Pros looked like this: Kurt Goat took third, Louren Sansregret placed second and Conroy Ganson found himself in first place. We will have event coverage up in the next little bit and let you know how everything all panned out.

Round 4 of the DMCC West schedule takes place in Penticton, BC in two weeks and it should bring some new faces to DMCC West circus. It looks like all three of the Drift Union Crew are going to take a shot at the podium in their own backyard plus I am sure a few more west coast drivers will take a shot at the Alberta heavy line-up.

Winnipeg’s Chris Gonzalez made the long trek down to Nashville to take place in the Mid-West Drift Union event at the Nashville Super Speedway. Unfortunately Chris had too much fun on Saturday in 4th gear and had no tires to compete yesterday. GET THIS MAN SOME TIRES!!!! When the smoke cleared the placings looked like this: 1) Tyson Schmidt 2) Brian Peter 3) Cody Tobe 4) Dustin Pizzinno

I try not to talk NASCAR on these pages since I don’t think 95% of our readers could give a flying F about it. However, when those big sassy cars get on to a road course I think most of us will at least take note. This past weekend the Nationwide series took to Gilles Villeneuve Circuit. It was your basic NASCAR road course race. Lots of paint swapping and action. Jacques Villeneuve qualified first on the track named for his father. Canadian Alex Tagliani finished second overall.
Also of note. This race was the last time Canadian Patrick Carpentier took to the track as a professional and is calling it quits after 27 years in the business. I am sure we will see him in the motorsports pasture of sports car/endurance racing in the coming years.
