Why haven’t I posted pictures of Mr. Shawn Hawley? The answer is where today’s title came from. For those of you who don’t know Shawn “Shawley” Hawley, he is the DMCC Pro driver who tamed the blue beast.
The 1992 Certified Radio Toyota Chaser has become a fixture at all the DMCC West events. There isn’t a time I haven’t seen Shawn competing at an event.
I cannot think of a lot of drift cars that are sponsored by a stereo company, but as you can tell from the vinyl, Clarion gets a lot of exposure — even with all the tire smoke.
While some people carry around business cards, Shawn’s business card is four doors long and let’s you know what is up every time you look at it. I can’t hear the words Clarion or Certified Radio and not think “Shawley.”
For all the times we’ve posted about Shawn, I think this is the first time we have shown him in person. So there he is in all of his glory.
