It is Monday Morning and it is time for me to tell you about stuff that happened over the past week/weekend. First I would like to thank Ryan and Richard for making sure the Rundown happened last week as I was away in Vancouver with the family for a little vacation. Anyway, that is enough small talk, time for car talk…….
First I would like to thank everyone that took the time out of their busy Mother’s Day to come down to the park for the first ever ‘Defrost’ spring meet here in Regina. The attendance surpassed all expectations. After a rough count it was determined that there were 80+ cars surrounded by dozens upon dozens of local enthusiasts. The whole point of the afternoon was to bring the enthusiast community together and after talking to several people I feel that everyone was impressed with the afternoon. Keep checking back for coverage over the next couple of days.

While on the topic of the 2011 DMCC West series. I came across a photo over the weekend of Shawn Hawley’s and Aaron Day’s new looks on display at the 780Tuner’s meet in Edmonton. Both cars look good!

Round 2 of the Formula Drift 2011 Championship took place over the weekend at Road Atlanta. It was another weekend of car troubles for some of the more established teams. When everything was figured out Dai Yoshihara took first place with Darren McNamara and Toshika Yoshiaka following in 2nd and 3rd respectively. Some of us got together to watch the cation live on Driftstream saturday afternoon and the highlight of the afternoon was Patrick Morduant’s little malfunction on his free run.

Our friend Pat Cyr out of Ontario took part in his first even of the season. Pat qualified 20th overall but had a tough first round match up and unfortunately didn’t make it on to the Top 16. Hopefully we get a video out of Cyriuos productions in the next couple of days documenting Pat’s weekend.

I came across this new event on one of my many internet adventures. For more information check out their page: http://www.2011tanationals.caslube.com/intro-en.htm
